I wonder if he's going to bring up the fact that his wife; Nancy Walls (who was on TDS from 1999-2002) was on SNL for a season, but probably only got 10 minutes of airtime the season she was on.

NEW YORK, September 22, 2005 -- Fresh off their Emmy Award-winning weekend, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" has placed two pieces from its former set up for auction on eBay, giving viewers and fans an opportunity to bring a piece of the show home with them while supporting 826 NYC, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring students to write while also helping to improve their writing skills.
After settling into their new digs the show has decided to give back to viewers and aid in the development of the next generation of writers. The show will be giving up part of its history in the form of two unique set pieces from the old studio that didn't make the trip down the block. Now through Wednesday, September 28 fans can indulge in their desire to get closer to the show (or, like Cosmo Kramer, begin their own show) by bidding on the set pieces on eBay. Also included in this auction will be a signed and personalized photo of Jon Stewart.
All proceeds from this auction are being donated to 826 NYC. 826 NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Their services are structured around their belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

With this in mind they provide drop-in tutoring, field trips, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications. All of their free programs are challenging and enjoyable, and ultimately strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice. More info about this organization can be found at www.826nyc.org.
This past Sunday "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," the network's unique news parody series, was honored for the third year in a row with Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program (the show's fourth such nod in this category). In addition, the series has received two George Foster Peabody Awards for its "Indecision 2000" and "Indecision 2004" presidential campaign coverage.

========

I guess Colbert is reallly off the show now, since his show premieres October 17th. I'm excited about the new correspondent, but of course I always get excited with new correspondents.

I've sadly missed a lot of the show this summer, does Bob Wiltfong still come in from time to time? I love that guy.

The September issue of Wired (which should be out by now) has Jon on the cover apparently.

If I can get a copy out here in the boonies I'll put up pics from it on the site.
