teenagers who have read it. He's interested in finding out if they have
brought it to class, whether teachers have shown interest in the book
and/or whether there have been attempts to ban the book from school or

Yeah, I guess I can understand that. I don't think I've seen the book at big stores [like Target] either. I guess like little kids can find that naked page and show their parents in the store, or teenagers can leave that page open and give old people heart attacks, I guess.

Oh, and another thing.

Remember last night's TDS when Ed was talking about the head guy from Coors running for something (Congress?) in Colorado? Remember a few months ago I brought up that Ed was going to be in a Coors ad in the Ed blog (no of course you don't because nobody reads that)? And then like after the ad was shot, Mr. Coors decided to run for congress, and since he was in the ad that Ed's in, the ad was never shown.

Well, during the report last night, the camera did a close up on Ed and I thought maybe Ed would make a remark about the ad that he did that was never aired.

NEW YORK, October 19, 2004 -- If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" has a huge fan in Matt Drudge. Drudge jumped on the fake news bandwagon yesterday, posting a report that falsely claimed "surprise audience erosion" for the critically-acclaimed and Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series.
According to the fake news report posted by Drudge, "The Daily Show" "pulled 1,040,000 total viewers for the month of September -- down 7% from August, the Drudge Report has learned." Apparently Drudge, like "The Daily Show," has no compulsion to actually fact-check his "sources." According to Nielsen Media Research, "The Daily Show" averaged 1,247,000 viewers in September, which was up +7% vs. August. Even taking into account a dark week for the show when repeats aired, "The Daily Show" averaged 1,149,000 viewers, which was also up vs. August (+2%).
In fact, "The Daily Show" recently enjoyed the single most-viewed telecast in its illustrious 8-year history on September 30 with 2.4 million viewers tuning in to the show's live post-debate coverage of the first Presidential Debate in Coral Gables, FL. That incredible performance contributed to the show's record-setting most-watched week in its history with an average of 1.5 million viewers. And the show continues to roll in October, averaging 1,278,000 viewers per new episode, up +13% over September. To date, viewership for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is up +25% vs. 2003.

Sorry about the address thing being blurred out on the scan of the cover. I hate it that TV Guide prints your address on the cover now, instead of using the sticky label that you could easily take off. My mom told me that when I was a little kid the first thing I'd do when we got the TV Guide was take that address label off. She also told me that I used to collect TV Guides when I was three, but my collection got so big that she threw it away. She's kicking herself for it now.

Hey, I'm not sure if you've seen this or not, but I'm assuming you haven't since I didn't see a post about it in either your journal or your Ed Helms community. There is a new magazine on the market called "GIANT"; I bought the first issue this past weekend at the Books-A-Million in Hampton. It's not really an interview with Ed, but they talked to him about the web pages he uses on a daily/weekly basis, mainly stuff he has bookmarked. The last one he talks about is this:

Last night's (9/30/04) post-debate telecast "Indecision 2004" presentation entitled "The Bush-Kerry Debate: The Squabble in Coral Gables" of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was the show's best episode ever.

The Daily Show, which ran LIVE on the East Coast, attracted a whopping 2.4 million viewers, smashing its former record of 1.9 million viewers for the John McCain episode on January 21st, 2004.
The Daily Show excelled competitively, winning its timeslot vs. all cable among young adults (18-34) and placing 2nd to Fox News among total viewers (P2+) and Adults 18-49.
The strength of the post-debate episode also propelled The Daily Show to its best week in history, with an average of 1.5 million viewers.
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is on track to deliver its best year ever in 2004. The series averages 1.1 million viewers a night, which is up almost +25% vs. viewership at this same point last year.
